OK, I am a transvestite.
As far as I am concerned, smoking has always been 'sexy'. Feminine, 'tarty' maybe, but definitely an integral part of Tina's persona.
Without being in anyway a 'fag ash lil' I have found smoking to be a 'normal way' of expressing myself as a girl.
I have given up smoking for 31 days now, and I am fine until I take on my female persona as Tina. It is then and only then that I struggle.
I think that I may need to see a shrink to over come this smoking fetish, as at the moment I can't do one (Dressing up) without the other (smoking).
I'd like to hear from anyone who thinks they may be able to help me.
Thanks

The nicotine in inhaled tobacco smoke moves from the lungs, into the bloodstream and up to the smoker's brain within 7 to 10 seconds. When a person inhales cigarette smoke, the nicotine in the smoke is rapidly absorbed into the blood and starts affecting the brain within 10 seconds
In addition to nicotine, cigarette smoke is composed of more than 4000 toxic chemicals and tar.
Statistics show that only a small percentage (approximately 7%) of people who try to quit smoking without support are still smoke-free a year later. You can try NICOBREVIN a complete 28 day plan to initiate Quit Smoking.

Iam 27/M and living alone. Iam an active runner and already completed 2 marathons. I typically smoke 2-3 cigarettes a month during parties and other social gathering, but never been an habitual smoker. Last month, I had a breakup with my long standing girl friend, which took a toll on my self worth. I feel lot better during mornings after my run and get immersed myself in work till evenings. But evening/weekends were torturous, since I pretty much don't do anything during these times except for cooking, browsing and watching TV. To fill the void,I started smoking a month back with 5-6 cigarettes only during evenings (believe me I felt it was really comforting and made me less lonely). Fast forward 1 month, Iam smoking 5 cigarattes every evening and feel guilty and helpless about my situation. The urge is almost impossible to control and now it's start screwing up my running.

Typically I run 5Miles everyday without panting hard, but over last couple of days, I could barely complete Miles and could feel pain all over my chest and stopped enjoying my running (which is only thing I loved a lot in my life ). Overall I feel Iam coping with the breakup much better now and every day I would vow that I would stop smoking and start preparing for my next marathon. But those lonely evenings and weekends are screwing me and I get overpowered by the urge and really feel bad about myself post-smoking. I want to return back to my healthy life style, make friends, pursue goals, but every cigarettes I smoke makes me feel weak and pathetic. I would really like to hear, if any members had similar experience and how did he/she successfully overcame this streak? I tried meditation/yoga, but the negative energy and urge is too difficult for me to overcome :-(

Hi I have been stopped for twelve weeks , used champix and stopped it a few weeks ago as I couldn't cope with the sickness and other problems it gave me.

I have done well so far as I stopped to help my husband too as he was going through a bone marrow transplant and I wanted to support him.

Anyhow he has been quite ill since and there have been loads of problems and I feel very stressed and I don't want to smoke but feel so limited to what I can do. I would love to hear any good tips I am tied to the house just now so can't go far.

cheers

I know a lot of people who have tried to quit smoking a number of times but in vain. It is really tough to kick the habit once you are in it. It does require a lot of grit and determination and lots of patience too. When you make your first attempt to stop smoking it really takes a toll on you. There are times when you just control the cravings and you are back to square one. There's no need to be disappointed as there is a strong weapon that successfully combats that urge to smoke just once and that is hypnosis!

There are many tips that you can get from many people however the stop smoking tip of hypnosis may be new to you. You may be even surprised or even shocked. Over the recent years the technique of hypnosis has been very successful to help smokers kick the habit and that too in the first attempt itself! Are you finding this hard to digest? Well, I'm afraid that it is true and the technique of hypnosis has proved to be extremely effective in making people to quit smoking positively.

Now the obvious question arises that what is hypnosis and how does it help you to quit smoking? In fact, the state of hypnosis is a state of the mind that is characterized by relaxed brain waves and a state that is known "hyper-suggestibility". This state is very important for the relaxation that it provides. The real importance of hypnosis relates to the healing and emotional change process in which your mind is open to receive suggestions. These positive and healing suggestions help you to sink deeply inside your mind and help you take decisions easily.

Hypnosis gives us the motivation to change and that too from within. Now if you are a smoker and go for hypnotherapy just for the sake of quitting smoking you will never respond to the treatment. You need to have the will-power to stop smoking in order to succeed in kicking the habit. Hypnosis will only help you if you want to. You must be strong willed and determined to stop smoking if you want to be aided by hypnotherapy.

Since hypnosis is a state of inward attention and focused concentration people are able to tap into and utilize their inner resources to make successful personal changes in order to make personal changes and govern their own lives. Hypnosis and self-hypnosis allows you to change quickly and make decisions firmly. If you are a smoker with the intention of kicking the habit on the first attempt you should go in for hypnosis to stop smoking.

Though it is hard to believe but the above is true. Today hypnosis has given people proven results. This stop smoking tip is immensely popular and if you are on the lookout for a safe and positive tip to stop smoking in a short span of time you just need to go for hypnosis for getting the much awaited result!
